Sophysical was founded in 2015 and since then we have treated over 12,000 patients. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer care with patients ranging from 6 to 96 and injuries of all kinds. Patients can expect to be seen promptly, given hands on treatment where appropriate and a user friendly app for their home exercise plan. There is an open line of communication between patient and therapist, where patients can share concerns and seek advice between appointments.
Patients can self refer in to the clinic as well as being referred by their GP, Health Insurance Provider or Consultant.
Meet the team
I began my career in health and fitness 25 years ago. I moved from working in and managing gyms to personal training before re-training as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist 15 years ago. I worked within the NHS alongside private practice before making the full time move to opening SoPhysical. Given my strength and conditioning background my speciality is sports and exercise rehab and a return to play. I have a long and successful history of returning elite and recreational athletes back to fitness. Whilst my specialism is sports rehab I also have an equally long history of treating general musculoskeletal conditions and am proud to say that I have close working links with the best Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Consultants in Hampshire. Another part of my work that I am immensely grateful to be able to do is playing a part in training student physiotherapists from the University of Southampton, we have been a placement centre since 2020 and try to take 1 or 2 students a year. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children. I used to compete competitively in Triathlons but in more recent years have made the switch to cycling (criterium and road racing). As someone who trains regularly I understand the need and desire to remain active and at optimal fitness and have enjoyed making this a reality for our many patients. I have built a team of therapists who also have the same goal and I am proud to work alongside them. We make a great team.
I am a Musculoskeletal and Womens Health Physiotherapist as well as a certified Mummy MOT practitioner. I began my career in Sports Rehabilitation 15 years ago working for the military at Headley Court which involved working with complex trauma patients to facilitate and restore optimal function with a firm focus on exercise rehabilitation. I completed my Masters in Physiotherapy in 2016 and initially worked within the NHS treating a broad range of patients before moving to private practice with SoPhysical in 2019. I have a keen interest in all sports and have a personal background in competitive Gymnastics so always particularly enjoy treating fellow Gymnasts! Over the years I have also worked with a variety of Football and Rugby teams and elite, national level and recreational athletes in different disciplines. I am passionate about a pro-active, multidiscipline approach and take great pleasure assisting my patients back to health and activity.
I started my physiotherapy career in 2021, graduating with first class honours from the University of Southampton. With a passion for musculoskeletal physiotherapy, I worked as an outpatient physiotherapist in Portsmouth for Solent NHS Trust before joining the team at SoPhysical in 2022 and haven’t looked back since. I believe in providing patient-centred, gold standard rehabilitative care for my patients. I enjoy working with a wide range of patients, from athletes whose goals are centred around returning to sport and maintaining high performance, to those simply seeking guidance and support in returning to the hobbies and activities they love but cannot currently do due to injury. Outside of work, I have a young family consisting of an ever-growing girl gang (including the dog!) This takes up every last ounce of free time I have… and I wouldn’t change it for the world. On the rare occasion I have any free time, I enjoy the gym, tennis and basketball.
My journey into physiotherapy began with supporting group exercise classes for those with long term neurological conditions. Two degrees and six years later I have NHS and private practice experience that has allowed me to work in multiple settings such as inpatients, outpatients and community care. I have been with SoPhysical since 2023 and have worked with a broad spectrum of patients from high level athletes to those suffering with chronic back pain and everything in between! I have no favourite conditions to treat but with a personal interest in skiing, surfing, running and gym work I will never be short of an idea to get you back to the top of your game!
